Phoenix
Developed at HRI-Wye at the same time as Admiral, this variety is a seeding of Yeoman. The growth is less vigorous than Target, but it is even more resistant to wilt and has good sized cones well down the bine. It ripens 2 weeks earlier than Target providing the hop grower with an excellent variety to extend the picking season. High in bitterness, and extremely rich in hop oils, this is the versatile hop. This new variety has great potential waiting to be explored. Storage ability is at the top end of the world's varieties.
